The Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers UK & Europe Branch connects engineering professionals of Zimbabwean heritage across the region. As an official international chapter of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE), we promote professional development, uphold engineering standards, and strengthen collaboration between the diaspora and Zimbabwe’s engineering community.

The ZIE UK & Europe Branch functions in alignment with the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers, founded in 1944 and formally established by the Private Act of 1953.

Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers

The Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers covers all engineering aspects in Zimbabwe. An Act in Parliament regulates its operation and membership. However ZIE is a private body consisting of all its members.

Honorary Fellow

Awarded to individuals with exceptional contributions to engineering or society.

Fellow

For senior engineers with leadership roles, over 40 years of age, and 5+ years as ZIE Members.

Member

Degree holders in engineering with a minimum of 3 years post-university experience.

Technologist

HND or quasi-engineering qualification with 3+ years experience.

Technician

National Diploma holders with at least 3 years engineering experience.

Graduate Engineer

For newly graduated engineers yet to acquire full practical experience.

Student Member

For students pursuing engineering courses in UK/EU universities and colleges.

Affiliate Organizations
